Family Promise - Immigration Services
Family Promise of Hendricks County provides supportive services to immigrant individuals and families to help them achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Through its Immigrant Services Center, Family Promise connects participants with essential resources such as housing support, employment and education assistance, language services, and referrals to legal and community partners. Their programs are designed to promote inclusion, dignity, and successful integration into the Hendricks County community.

INFORMATION + ORIENTATION
SERVICES
Welcome materials outlining local services, amenities, and cultural information. Orientation sessions to help immigrants understand the local community, laws, and customs.
LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE
Language classes or resources to help immigrants improve their English skills. Translation services for important documents and communication.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Legal advice and assistance with immigration-related issues. Information on rights and responsibilities in the U.S. Family Promise is currently in the application process to becoming recognized and accredited by the Department of Justice to provide legal representation for immigration cases.
EMERGENCY HOUSING +
BASIC NEEDS
Basic needs assistance – emergency housing, food, clothing, supplies, furniture, rent assistance, utility assistance and other needs to create or maintain stability.
EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT
Job search assistance, resume writing workshops, and interview preparation. Information about local job fairs and employment opportunities.
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
Guidance on finding affordable housing. Financial assistance when available. Information on tenant rights and responsibilities.
HEALTHCARE INFORMATION
Guidance on accessing healthcare services. Information on health insurance options and free/low-cost care.
EDUCATION RESOURCES
Information about local schools, colleges, and adult education programs. Assistance with enrollment processes.
CULTURAL + COMMUNITY
PROGRAMS
Events and programs that celebrate cultural diversity. Community integration initiatives, such as cultural exchange programs.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Access to social support services, including counseling and mental health resources. Information on local community and social groups.
TRAUMA RESPONSE
Special programs and support for immigrant women and children who have been trafficked, abused and traumatized.
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Forums or events for immigrants to connect with each other and the local community. Mentorship programs linking newcomers with established residents.

ASSISTANCE
Help with navigating government services and paperwork. Information about local community and government resources.
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Information on obtaining driver’s licenses and car registration. Transportation assistance (FP van or Uber) on a limited basis.
FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMS
Workshops on budgeting, banking, and financial planning. Information on available financial assistance programs.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH +ADVOCACY
Advocacy for immigrant rights and representation. Community outreach initiatives to foster understanding and acceptance.

Information on local childcare options. Placement in Family Promise Childcare when available. Assistance with school enrollment for children.
